There are three different types of hearts. And there is no fourth.
The first type is the clean heart, the God fearing heart free from jealousy and free from ar-Riyaa (showing off). It excels in matters between himself and his Lord and he excels in matters between himself and people. He worships Allah as though he can see him. He acts towards others knowing that Allah sees him and his actions:
..And do good; indeed, Allah loves the doers of good.
[Surah al-Baqarah 2:195]
This type of heart is the closest to Allah and is the most beneficial to other people.
The second type of heart, is the most common heart, the one that has no good in it. It turns away from the signs and proofs of Allah. It listens to the instruments of Satan and his evil whispers. Allah says regarding this:
And they said, “Our hearts are wrapped.” But (in fact), Allah has cursed them for their disbelief.”
(Surah al-Baqarah 2: 88)
Meaning that it (i.e. the heart) doesn’t understand the truth and doesn’t accept it.
Continuing the verse…
..But, [in fact], Allah has cursed them for their disbelief, so little is it that they believe.
(Surah al-Baqarah 2: 88)
The third type of heart is that in which there is good and righteousness and piety, but in it there is also evil. So this hearts becomes good or evil depending on which side defeats the other. In it there is goodness, but also a lot of evil. So it belongs to the side that defeats the other. Either this or the other.
If his good actions outweigh his evil ones, he becomes from those who have saved themselves. And if his evil deeds outweigh his good ones, he becomes from those destroyed.
